Making Decisions When Your Mind Feels Full

Have you ever felt like you're thinking about a decision constantly, yet getting no closer to an answer?

Sometimes it isn't because you don't know what you want.

It's because you're trying to consider everything at once.

Your needs.

Your family's needs.

Your finances.

Your responsibilities.

What other people might think.

The possible outcomes.

When every thought competes for your attention, your own voice can become difficult to hear.

That doesn't mean you're indecisive.

It may simply mean your mind is carrying more than one person was ever meant to hold.

One practice I often return to is slowing the conversation down and separating what I'm actually thinking.

Ask yourself:

  • What do I know?

  • What am I afraid might happen?

  • What am I assuming?

  • What do I need?

Those questions won't make the decision for you.

But they often make the decision easier to understand.

Sometimes clarity doesn't come from finding another answer.

Sometimes it comes from creating enough space to hear your own.

Ready for a conversation?

If you're navigating a decision and would like a supportive place to sort through what's on your mind, I'd love to meet with you.
